Instagram App Now Allows Multiple Accounts. Here's How To Do It
Instagram has announced one of its most eagerly anticipated features. Much to the delight of bloggers and business users everywhere, it’s now possible to switch between multiple accounts from within the Instagram mobile app without signing out.
Starting with app version 7.15 for both Android and iOS, it
will now be possible to add up to five additional accounts and manage them all
from within a single up.
Until now, users who have maintained separate personal and
business accounts have had to sign out and back in repeatedly in order to check
each individual account. Others have resorted to using third party Instagram
apps or even maintaining multiple phones in order to keep tabs on more than one
account simultaneously.
How to add multiple Instagram accounts
¤ It’s simple to add a new account
from inside the app.
¤ Go to your
profile, by tapping on the “head and
shoulders” icon at the bottom right of
the screen.
¤ Now tap on
the gear or triple-dot icon at the top right and scroll down to Add Account.
¤ Instagram
now lets you add up to five accounts
This is a very welcome and long overdue move from Instagram.
The ease of switching accounts should encourage multi-account users to become
more active on the service, while those with just one account might feel
encouraged to add more now that the process has become trivially easy.
For example, if you have an Instagram account specialising
in black and white photography, you could now easily add a second account for
those colour pictures of your cat you’ve
been dying to share, without being put off by the thought of having to sign in
and out of multiple accounts and without fear of diluting your brand.
I predict a sizeable increase in the number of registered
Instagram accounts as a result of this simple change.
